about
I am Hanbyul Kim, a graduate student in the Department of Physics at Hanyang University in Seoul, working with Prof. Moon Jip Park on theoretical condensed matter physics.
I studied physics at Hanyang University as an undergraduate (2019–2024), graduating summa cum laude, and started the Master’s program in September 2024. Along the way I have worked on quantum geometry and holographic methods with Prof. Sang-Jin Sin, and on CMS collider simulations with Prof. Tae-Jeong Kim, before settling into my current focus: topological phases, quantum geometry, and unconventional magnetism in van der Waals systems — see the research page for what I am working on now.
Outside research, I teach in the general physics laboratory as an assistant instructor, and I have tutored mathematics and physics for many years.
The best way to reach me is by email: khbof@hanyang.ac.kr. My formal record is on the CV page, and my papers are on Google Scholar.
