Professional Summary
Theoretical condensed matter physicist working on topological phases, quantum geometry, and magnetoelectric responses in correlated and van der Waals systems.
Experience
-
2024 - present Seoul, South Korea
Graduate Researcher (Condensed Matter Theory)
Hanyang University, Department of Physics
Advisor: Prof. Moon Jip Park
- Led a first-author project on odd-parity magnetism in van der Waals heterostructures — derived the Landau free energy and constructed a tight-binding model stabilizing odd-parity magnetic order.
- Calculated the spectrum of low-angle moiré honeycomb-kagome lattices and identified a higher-order topological insulator phase under specific symmetry conditions.
- Investigated how interband coupling in flatband lattices modifies the logarithmic entanglement entropy scaling of eta-pairing states.
-
2024 - present Seoul, South Korea
Assistant Instructor, General Physics Laboratory
Hanyang University, Department of Physics
- Independently managed all aspects of the laboratory course — designed and delivered instruction, supervised experiments, and grading.
- 2024: General Physics Experiment 2 (English-only class); 2025: General Physics Experiment 1
-
2024 - 2024 Seoul, South Korea
Undergraduate Researcher (Quantum Geometry Tensor)
Hanyang University, Department of Physics
Advisor: Prof. Sang-Jin Sin
- Demonstrated that Berry curvature percolation plays a key role in determining topological phases in materials.
- Extended holographic mean field theory to study strongly interacting fermion systems, focusing on symmetry-breaking phenomena and spectral functions.
-
2022 - 2024 Seoul, South Korea
Teaching Assistant
Hanyang University, Department of Physics
- 2024: Thermal and Statistical Physics; 2023: Mathematical Physics
-
2022 - 2023 Seoul, South Korea
Undergraduate Researcher (Particle Experiment Simulation)
Hanyang University (CERN-CMS collaboration)
Advisor: Prof. Tae-Jeong Kim
- Searched for di-Higgs (ttHH) production in the di-lepton state for HL-LHC at 14 TeV using Monte Carlo simulations of Phase-II CMS data.
- Implemented deep neural networks to enhance b-tagged jet identification and classify ttHH signals from background events.
